It starts with understanding

Helping your dog through training challenges and behavior problems in a real-world setting is K9-2000’s mission. Transforming your pet and your life is possible when you learn to understand, communicate and work with your dog. We give you the skills to help your dog be calmer, happier, more relaxed and balanced. We teach you to be a better handler for your dog.

The future for your dog can be bright

Even dogs with a history of aggressive behavior have the potential to be calm, obedient and happy, even if they aren’t cut out to be social with humans, or dogs, or both. We’ll train them and give you tools and techniques to build their impulse control and obedience. We can’t force a dog to be social, but we can make sure they are safe and controlled.

Our Services

Evaluation

Every dog is different, with their own personality, preferences and habits, so we take the time to observe and gather insights about your dog and we assess the ways in which you interact with your furry friend.  We’ll also discuss your training goals and any behavioral issues.   This crucial information becomes the basis for your dog’s training program.

Basic and Advanced Obedience

Basic obedience training is the foundation for well-behaved, well-adjusted dogs.  We’ll teach fundamental commands and behaviors that are key to enjoying a positive relationship with your furry companion.  Training enhances your dog’s ability to understand and respond appropriately to you.  It is crucial for their development and can measurably improve quality of life for both of you.

Once your dog has mastered basic obedience, advanced training can challenge your dog’s mental and physical abilities to unlock your dog’s full potential and strengthen the bond between you.  Your dog will become more confident and reliable in different situations.  Even off-leash in distracting environments, your dog can stay focused on you and responsive to your commands.  Advanced training also helps dogs sharpen their problem-solving skills, improve their physical fitness, and provide mental stimulation.

Puppy Training

To brand new puppies, the world of good manners, appropriate behavior and social rules is utterly foreign and confusing.  You can’t expect them to behave, know where to relieve themselves, not run into traffic, or not chew furniture unless you train them.  Early training for your new furry friend will help your puppy stay safe, well-behaved and happy, maintain the peace in your household, and pave the way for a well-adjusted, happy adulthood.

Service Dog Training

Service dogs are trained to perform specific tasks for individuals with disabilities, over and beyond their wonderful service as faithful companions who support us in various capacities and follow our commands.  Your specific disability and needs are the starting point for developing a specific training program for your service dog.  Your furry companion will learn specific skills that will help you participate in daily life more fully.  Some examples include dogs trained to support people with hearing needs, mobility needs, medical alert needs, psychiatric needs, and more.

Aggression Rehabilitation

If your furry friend is aggressive or reactive, the quality of life for both of you is diminished.  With the right training, it’s possible to make great strides in correcting and rehabilitating unwanted behaviors, including fear aggression, leash reactivity, food aggression/resource guarding, anxiety-based behaviors, human/dog aggression and more.  It starts with a professional evaluation that helps us develop a practical training program to address your specific situation.

Behavior Modification

With behavior modification, the goal is to teach your furry friend a better way of existing in our world. Our job is to give you the tools to do this.  Ultimately, with training, you will succeed at fostering good behavior in your dog.  We’ll teach you to provide a strongly structured environment with clear and concise communication, establishing strong rules and boundaries. And in partnership with you, we’ll teach your dog exactly what behavior is expected of her and what is not allowed.

Our Approach

The K-9 2000 approach has been honed over two decades, training hundreds of dogs of all breeds and all personality types and behaviors. Whether a service dog, police dog, family pet, or a companion for all seasons, we’ve trained for all real-world needs. K-9 2000 has developed tools and techniques to support your goals, situation or mission. We evaluate your dog; study their personality, habits and proclivities; and show you how to establish proper rules and structure as well as how to correct unwanted and unsafe behaviors and reward great behaviors.

“There is no question about it, enlisting Eddie to help us with our sweet but aggressive-reactive dog Bear absolutely transformed our family life for the better. We were close to giving up, when Eddie stepped in to show us tools and training to provide the structure, rules, and socialization that Bear needed to be calm, less reactive, obedient and happy. And now we have the confidence to bring Bear with us, wherever we go.”

“We’ve been training with Ed for about 3 months now. And we knew from the get-go when we got our dog, we were going to want to do obedience training. So being able to come and witness (the training), and coming with our dog, we were truly convinced. He knows what he’s doing when it comes to your dog. If you’re not sure it’s for you, I promise you it’s a great way to go.”

“I really wanted to come to Ed. I found him so randomly because the services on Guam are very scarce. I was looking for somebody that was gonna be able to help me to get my dog trained into a service animal. And he came highly recommended from the military people, actually, from the Air Force. And so when I came to see his training, I knew he was gonna be the guy to be able to get the job done. So, I’m really excited, and Riot is progressing really well. And I can’t wait to tell all my friends.

She’s been training for about a month now, and she’s already in advanced training.”

“While stationed on Guam in the USN and assigned to the Naval Hospital ICU unit, Sheeba and I started to bond during the time she was a stray canine inside the base. One day, she was no longer around and taken away. I learned she was relocated to G.A.I.N. After discovering her whereabouts, I immediately adopted her.

I received word from my Command that I will be leaving island. I became desperate and went to see Ed of K-9 2000 LLC with less than two months prior to leaving island. This last-minute desperation was the later part of 2024. I informed Ed I needed immediate assistance to get Sheeba to be trained as a Service dog.

Without hesitation, Ed began helping us. Not only does he train your dog, he also worked with me by taking the time to show me the proper techniques that best suits me and Sheeba for our needs every step of the way. While in transit to the US in December 2024, Sheeba and I encountered several Service Dogs, and in my opinion, Sheeba was the best behaved because Ed stressed the importance of Sheeba’s training while in the presence of other dogs and he organized Sheeba’s training accordingly.

Now, Sheeba and I have a stronger bond than ever and we have traveled through airports on multiple occasions, go to restaurants, malls etc. I would 100% recommend Ed of K-9 2000 LLC for any of your training related needs! Thanks to him, Sheeba and I are now happily together in California and I couldn’t be more thankful!”

“We’ve only been training for a couple weeks now, but he’s done about five sessions and he’s already improved so much with just ‘sit’, ‘stay’, and ‘leave it.’ And his reactivity is so much better! We’re still working on it, but he’s already so, so, so much better!

My dog and my sister’s dog, we live together, and they were just fighting non-stop and the aggression just got so much worse and worse that it was just becoming a very chaotic household. So, we definitely had to do something. Because we want to live in a nice, harmonious home without dogs trying to kill-each other everyday.

Now, they’re definitely getting more comfortable being around each other in the same area with just leaving each other alone.”

“We are five sessions in from where we began, and almost immediately, I could tell a marked difference in Paloma’s behavior. Even at home, she minds me better. We still have always to go. We did come to Mr. Ed and his team because Paloma and our other dog in the home, Bowie, don’t get along, and Paloma is the main aggressor. So, that was the original reason why we came to Mr. Ed. We’re still working on that, but even just five sessions in, they can be together and not get at it. So, that’s a wonderful start!

It gave me a renewed sense of hope in my dog and in our living arrangement. And so, I’m really, really looking forward to it and its really been a positive impact on both my personal life and in my relationship with my friends and visitors who’ve come to the home, and also with my family. My sister specifically, who is the guardian of Bowie.

So, yes, we’re very, very pleased! Highly recommend!”
